Gaining and sustaining employment is widely recognised as a critical determinant of health, wellbeing, and quality of life, and unemployment and underemployment are major issues for people with disability. Customised Employment is an innovative approach that supports people with a disability to find and keep a job aligned with their aspirations. Scope Australia, one of Australia’s largest disability service providers, in collaboration with the Centre for Disability Employment Research and Practice (CDERP) and the University of Melbourne is currently researching the impact of Customised Employment for people with complex disabilities and how it might be best used within an NDIS framework.
