Facilitating Self-Advocacy for the NDIS: Mental health

An online train-the-trainer program for NDIS service providers aimed at fostering self-determination and mainstream connections for people who may be eligible to access, or are accessing, the NDIS under the psychosocial disability stream.  advocating at each stage of the NDIS process.   The training format consists of 3 hours prerequisite learning and 2 x 2:30 online interactive workshops.

Each workshop is co-facilitated by a mental health lived experience professional who provides unique insights and first-hand experience of advocating at each stage of the NDIS process.

The training will:

  • Increase knowledge and skills of NDIS service workers with an interest in professional development, to be able to train other workers at their organisation in Facilitating Self-Advocacy for the NDIS (Mental Health).
  • Increase the confidence/capacity of these workers to facilitate self-advocacy by individuals with a psychosocial disability by means of information sessions for consumers, carers and co-workers and individually in one-to-one sessions.
