Human Rights Week

International Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  Every year in December we recognise and celebrate this day through a week of events, connection, and advocacy.

Building on last year’s theme to make rights real, this year’s theme is rights in action.

During the week, you will be sent daily actions to challenge your knowledge of human rights and implement this knowledge in a practical way. These actions will ask you to:

  • consider human rights in your interactions in everyday life
  • have conversations about human rights
  • put your knowledge into practice
  • help build a society where rights are valued and respected.

Pledge to take action for Human Rights Week 2022.
