Understanding COVID-19 supports in the NDIS

The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the lives of every Australian. But the impact it has had on the lives of people with disability has been more devastating on a number of fronts. The rise of the Omricon variant, and the current strategy to open up and let the virus go, means that many people with disabilities have had to go into a self imposed lockdown. In order to stay safe from life threatening infection, ongoing in home support from COVID free support workers and having the right equipment available to access online health support, must be readily available. Unfortunately, both are in short supply, heightening anxiety and further compounding the risks.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has a number of initiatives available to support people with disability through this pandemic. Join Jordan McArthur and Virginia Wiggins from the Co-design and Engagement Communications and Engagement Division at the National Disability Insurance Agency to clarify what’s in and what’s out.

This webinar is part of the Advocacy Sector Conversations forum series which provides in depth expert knowledge on topical issues which directly impact on the practice of disability advocacy.
