Leadership Plus is a community-based organisation providing advocacy services to people living with disability. Leadership Plus assists people with disability from all over Victoria, and our advocacy work prioritises people living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) as well as Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities in the Dandenong, Kingston, and Casey local government areas. Our purpose is to work alongside people with disability so that they have access to and exercise their rights and opportunities in life.
Leadership Plus focuses on Individual Advocacy and Systemic Advocacy. Our Individual Advocacy work is generally short term and issue based, focused on rights and entitlements. Individual advocacy works with a person with disability to:
- Have a say in decisions about their life.
- Make informed decisions.
- Be heard – by working to ensure their voice and choice is heard.
- Develop an understanding of their rights, self-advocacy and empowerment.
- Understand the views and rights of others.
Referral can be made to Leadership Plus Intake, in line with our targeted Cohort:
- People living with acquired brain injury (ABI)
- First Nations People
- People from CALD communities living in the Local Government Areas of Dandenong, Kingston and Casey
