Formerly Disability Advocacy and Information Service (DAIS), provides advocacy support to people with disabilities and carers in North East Victoria.
Services include:
- Assist people with disabilities to resolve problems.
- Provide information and support.
- Refer to appropriate services.
- Represent individuals when dealing with service providers.
- Take issues to government departments and Ministers.
- Instigate proceedings in the Equal Opportunity Commission.
- Refer to the Commissioner for Discrimination.
- Support through the NDIS process – Access Request – Planning Meetings – Reviews – Appeals & AAT Hearings
We help people with a disability to:
- Become more independent
- Know their rights
- Make a complaint
- Resolve a problem
- Be active in the community
- Access other services.
Our services can be accessed
- Directly by the person with the disability
- By others, including carers, family members, or friends.
