The first class for Deafblind students in an Australian public school has been created in regional New South Wales, after a mother’s two-year fight to get her son the support he needed.
Advocates say advocating for a child with disability should not be a full-time job for parents.
Tenambit Primary has been upgraded to accommodate Ari Bennett and employed more staff fluent in Auslan, making the school more accessible to children with a range of disabilities.
