It’s an uncomfortable issue, disability. People with disability are treated differently. There’s a tendency to look away, to avoid, even with the best of goodwill.

And judging from the final report of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability last September, they too often face far, far worse.
