The Hon. Natalie Hutchins MP, Minister for Women, is inviting applications for membership on the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre Trust (the Trust).
The Trust was established under the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre Trust Act 1994 to govern the Centre. Located at 210 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, the Centre is an iconic Melbourne landmark promoting gender equality, inclusion, and diversity in a heritage-listed building.
The Centre leases office space to organisations that support women (including trans, gender diverse and sistergirls) and promote gender equity. Its venue hire service is used by public and private sector organisations and it delivers an annual program of cultural engagement activities that bring diverse women together to advance gender equity. The Birnbeal Gallery creates opportunities for women and gender diverse artists to exhibit their works and the QVWC Shop! is a specialist retail outlet promoting Victoria women and gender diverse makers and designers.
The selection and remuneration of appointees to the Trust is in accordance with the Victorian Government’s Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines.
Duration: 3 year term (dependent on Ministerial approval)
Location: Melbourne CBD (two times per year) and online
Salary: Sessional rates
Meetings: 6-8 times per year, and its sub-committees as required. It is expected that Trust members will commit approximately 4-8 hours per month. Currently meetings are held online with 2 meetings per year held in person at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre.
The Minister is seeking to appoint two Trust members who have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas outlined in the ‘Skills and Expertise’ section below.
