Fran Lee

Fran is passionate about disability and people with a disability within the criminal justice system. She is an experienced self advocate and has worked since 2014, committed to making change happen. In particular, Fran would like to see people with a disability given a positive profile within our community, for example, on TV, reading the news, within the fashion industry and throughout pop culture.

Post accident, Fran was unable to talk and engage within the community. She was frightened to see any of her old friends. A support worker introduced Fran to Ross House, where she joined BIM (Brain Injury Matters). It was here that Fran found her place in the world. She has been all Australia working as a Self Advocate with a clear purpose to make things better for people with disabilities.
Fran is able to talk about having an ABI in a wide variety of settings. She is patient, passionate and persistent.

Fran is a graduate of the Voices for Justice training program, (SARU/RMIT-CIJ) and is an active member of the Voices for Change group (Self Advocates for Change in the criminal justice system).
