This guide was written for support workers by the Belonging Matters Advisory Council (BMAC) and Belonging Matters and is based on the actual experiences of people with intellectual disability and autism.

It was written because members of BMAC and other people with an intellectual disability and autism told them that they were unhappy with some of the support they received from support workers. They also had trouble telling support workers what they wanted.
