The survey was initiated in 2024 by the Community Housing Disability Network (CHDN), a network of people with an interest in creating better housing solutions for people with disability.

The aim of the survey was to better understand community housing providers’ current practices, issues and capacity building requirements in relation to housing people with disabilities. The questionnaire covered issues related to general community housing tenancies that include people with disability, and others focused on Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funded by the NDIS.
