The latest edition of the Provider Quarterly Report – School Leaver Employment for the period January to December 2024 is now available.
The report provides information about the employment assistance delivered to 7,580 school leaving participants, their progress, and the outcomes they achieved.
It also provides insights into provider practices and identifies factors leading to successful employment outcomes shown in the data submitted by providers.
Key data highlights in the report show that:
- Of the 2,262 participants who exited support:
- 12% (277 out of 2,262) went on to further study or volunteer work
- 21% (478 out of 2,262) achieved open employment outcomes
- 3% (70 out of 2,262) achieved supported employment outcomes (working in a supported employment service)
Key insights show that:
- Increasing skill specific training time gives participants a better chance of making significant progress in applying their skills.
- Participants who spend more time in work experience were more likely to gain paid employment.
- Participants who made significant progress or fully achieved the following milestones were more likely to gain paid employment:
- employer engagement and job customisation
- acquiring work skills
- work experience
- building social, presentation and communication skills.
