A psychiatrist has criticised the NDIS for allowing the “gentrification” of people with disabilities.

Dr Ahmed Tanveer argued that it’s becoming “mainstream” and the incentives are driving it.

“We are increasingly medicalising all sorts of other behaviours,” Dr Tanveer said.
