Beth Gaze teaches anti-discrimination law at Melbourne University Law School, and has written many articles on aspects of the law, including (with Rosemary Hunter) Enforcing Human Rights: An Evaluation of the New Regime (2010), a study of enforcement in the federal anti-discrimination law system. She has been a member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal and the Victorian Mental Health Review Board, and earlier in her career was involved with community legal services.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) is twenty years old. This panel session will look at what the legal landscape was like for the Act, how things have changed and how things can be improved. The topic will be explored from different angles and perspectives.
