Spending on Australia’s community services has grown 45.9% over the past four years, with data showing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other disability supports cost $37.4 billion last financial year.
According to a Report on Government Services (ROGs), the cost of Australia’s community services absorbed 18.9% of total expenditure in the 2021-22 financial year.
